My (Current) Dorky Pleasure
Everyone has dorky things they obsess over. Things they can rave over for hours that the average person wouldn’t care about. My dorky thing used to be writing about data analytics—a topic that puts most people to sleep faster than watching paint dry.
But, hey, I’m a bit of a tech geek. Things like data and software excite me.
Recently, I’ve been fascinated by the world of web development.
I’m not planning on becoming a full-stack developer anytime soon. My HTML/CSS knowledge is minimal, and I don’t want to suffer through learning JavaScript anytime soon. I build my websites the “no code” way, which teaches me all I need to know about web development fundamentals.
It’s cool stuff. Probably not to you, but I can geek out over this for hours.
My favorite thing to do now is to use Google Chrome’s Inspect feature to read the code that gives a website life whenever I find a site with cool features. It’s the digital version of popping a car’s hood to admire the engine underneath.
What’s your dorky thing?
