Cool Things I Found 8/12 to 8/18
This week was busy for me.
I had an event every day.
Monday = Rock Climbing
Tuesday = Men's League basketball game
Wednesday = Met's Game
Thursday = Men's League basketball game
Friday = Rock Climbing and Night Out With Friends
Saturday = Disc Golfing
All that on top of my usual 9-5. So, yeah, it was a busy week.
I didn't spend as much time consuming content as I normally would. Perhaps, that's a good thing. Spending time going out and doing things meant I had a nice break from the digital world--a world I spend too much time in.
But, don't worry, I still have a few things to share here.
So, let's dive in...
1) 21 Rules For Getting Your Shit Together
I'm normally not a fan of "21 Lessons For my 21st Birthday" type of posts.
But this one interested me.
I don't know why. Nothing here was life-changing. Nor did anything blow my mind. I suppose I liked the simplicity of the writing. Short, clear, and engaging.
2) Last-place finisher in the Olympic marathon
Most people wouldn't care about the last place finisher in a race.
But this racer's story inspires me enough to fall in love with this video.
The way the crowd, full of people from different countries and rooting for different teams, unifies to support this athlete gave me goosebumps.
This article is about why you should take and save notes using plain text files.
Nowadays, there are too many note-taking softwares. Think Google Docs, Word, Notion, Obsidian. And so on.
But Derek Sivers believes plain text files are superior.
And after reading this article, I believe him.
In fact, I'm writing this post in a text file right now. I kinda like it.
